  • What Is CEREC CAD/CAM Technology?
What Is CEREC CAD/CAM Technology?

CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramic REConstruction) is the computer aided design and manufacture for creating dental restorations. This process allows dentists to construct, produce and insert individual ceramic restorations directly at the point of treatment (in the dentist’s chair) in a single appointment.

Since 2009 it is also possible to use CEREC for implants, when combined with three-dimensional X-ray technology. OptiSmile can combine the CAD/CAM planning based on CEREC with 3D X-ray data in order to coordinate the prosthetic and surgical implant planning and achieve the intended treatment results. With this we are now able to produce them at OptiSmile’s dental practice using CEREC Guide.

  • What Are The Benefits?
What Are The Benefits?

Nobody has time to waste these days. Your time is too valuable to be at the dentist all day, not to mention having to return for follow-up visits. We at OptiSmile are thrilled to offer you CEREC restoration services, which allows Dr. Clifford Yudelman or Dr. Kaveer Ratan to complete crowns, veneers, inlays and fillings in one single visit.

Due to the accurate digital mapping that charts the inside of a patient’s mouth down to the last detail, there is no issue with inaccurate dental impressions that lead to patient discomfort from bulky molds and unnecessary debris in their mouth. It also allows us to preserve as much as possible of a person’s natural teeth when it comes to veneers.

Transform your smile in no time – CEREC provides a computer-designed restoration for your tooth in less than two hours.

  • When do Dentists Use CEREC CAD/CAM Technology?
When do Dentists Use CEREC CAD/CAM Technology?

CEREC CAD/CAM technology helps to create highly accurate visual representations of implants, veneers or other restorative dental parts and is also used in the creation of these parts. This technology works on a microscopic level to ensure that any implants or veneers created will fit perfectly.

How we use CEREC 3D technology at OptiSmile

  1. CEREC’s 3D video imaging technology photographs your tooth
  2. It then uses CAD/CAM technology to design your new tooth
  3. This 3D design is then sent wirelessly to a milling machine which shapes a block of pure ceramic into a beautiful, custom made tooth in 30 minutes or less.
  4. We then permanently bond your restoration and you’re good to go!

If you are interested in implants, veneers, Invisalign or any other dental solutions that incorporate CEREC technology, contact OptiSmile via phone, WhatsApp or email. We are happy to answer any question you may have regarding our dental technologies.
